Spring is in the Air at Badour Farm

Excitement is starting to build as another fun-filled cottaging season at Badour Farm is fast approaching, and with it, another opportunity meet friends and make memories. Before long, the Community's residents will be replacing their cross-country skis and ice fishing gear with water skis and spin-casters.

Eight additional lots were created in the subdivision last summer, making a total of 43 lots. At this time, only 12 lots remain, including three on Crow Lake, one on Hilltop Pond, and eight interior lots. Some of the purchasers have had a longtime connection to the lakes. Badour Farm attracted them because of four-season access from a paved Township Road and the additional recreational opportunities on the common lands. Others have purchased lots with the short-term intention of having a summer retreat, but the long-term goal of retiring at the lake.

This summer, road construction work is expected to be replaced with the construction of new homes and cottages. The main roads are now complete. The smooth pavement will entice the Community's biking enthusiasts. A scenic paved lane winds between maples and oaks to a Community Boat Launch at Bobs Lake. Hydro lines and high speed telephone lines have been installed along the length of the subdivision roads, as well as secondary lines to some of the lots. Visitors to Badour Farm are greeted by entrance features that let them know they are entering a special place. A line of maples next to a traditional split rail fence parallel the road, and large granite rocks mark the gateway to the Community.

105 acres have been set aside as Common Lands for the exclusive enjoyment of residents. These lands contain a network of approximately four kilometres of hiking and cross-country ski trails. These trails feature several scenic lookouts over lakes, ponds and valleys. Some trails have also been created on individual lots to provide access to the shore and scenic lookouts.
