Situated in the pristine Land-of-Lakes area in Ontario, Canada, Bobs Lake and Crow Lake are a wonder to behold.
Bobs Lake is one of the largest in the area containing approximately four-hundred miles of shoreline, several bays, and other connecting lakes. Over 100 islands have been counted on Bobs Lake, making this lake an endless opportunity for discovery. Many of these islands were the product of the 1870-71 flooding of the lakes when 8 or more feet of water was added to some earlier dam building of 5 or more feet. Thus little hills became islands. Crow Lake has only 5 islands, and they have been shaped by the reverse action - the deliberate lowering of the water levels by 8 or more feet in 1915 - otherwise Crow Lake might not have had a single island.
Badour Farm is about an hour drive from the nearest New York border crossing, 45 from minutes from the Kingston airport, 1½ hours from Ottawa and 3 hours from Toronto. The summer weather attracts people from all locations with a variety of activities such as sailing, fishing, canoeing, water-skiing, swimming, boating, biking or hiking. As is typical for the latitude, the lakes are frozen during the winter months and provide good ice fishing. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling can also be enjoyed.
The small town of Westport attracts tourists from the surrounding lakes.
